93-year-old Rebecca Zeni, who became famous in his youth due to its natural beauty, was eaten alive by parasitic mites once infected with scabies, while in the care of a nursing home in Georgia.

Forensic pathologist Kris Sperry, who saw the autopsy report of Rebecca, said that her case was «one of the worst things he had ever seen in my career.»

Estimated Sperry, hundreds of millions of mites lived in Rebecca at the time of her death. She was essentially eaten alive and probably died a painful death, says pathologist.

«I would seriously consider to call it a crime of neglect,» said Sperry.

The family of the deceased sued on the tools of health services Pruitt Health, who runs the nursing home where a woman died.

«I don’t understand how you could allow a person to die is meaningless,» said the family’s lawyer Mike Prieto.

Records from the Department of public health Georgia showed that the authorities were notified about the outbreak of scabies in a nursing home in 2013 and 2015. According to the documents, the 35 residents of the hospital and staff were infected. The Department does not conduct inspections, but sent information about methods of treatment of skin diseases.
