The day after they returned home from Orlando Scarlett started throwing up and fever. According to mother, the little girl was often sick with a cold and even suffered from mild febrile seizures, for which she took medications, but generally she was in good health.

«On the second day, she [still] had a fever, so I called our doctor and took her – told a grieving mother PEOPLE. – She was so lethargic that I had to carry her in his office. [The doctor] thought it was a stomach virus, so he gave us Zofran (anti-emetic – approx. USA.one), and we took her home.»

Holly said that after a few days the fever passed, and Scarlett felt fine. But suddenly the girl began vomiting. According to mother, at that moment, she noticed that my daughter had severe bloating.

«Her belly was very large, and she was often sick,» recalls Holly. Suddenly the baby’s eyes began to roll back.

The terrified mother quickly called the ambulance. Paramedics suggested that Scarlett has started having a seizure. Then the girl’s condition began to deteriorate.

«Her heart stopped in the ambulance, and they are unable to re-start it, says Holly. – I thank God that I was there when she left. I talked with her while they tried to resuscitate her. Her last words were: «I want mommy»».

Holly’s husband, Aaron, who served in the Marines, came home immediately.

Just a day after the death of Scarlett’s family learned that their daughter died from sepsis, but the doctors could not determine exactly how she got sick.

«We really want to know how she got sepsis. How did this happen? Perhaps it is genetic? We have three kids, we don’t want to lose our other children,» Holly says through her tears.
