Today, December 19, in the morning the Deputy Sheriff of the County of Hillsborough (FL) Terry Strawn killed three family members and then contacted colleagues from the Department of telecommunication to tell them the shocking news.
According to Sheriff Chad Chronister, Strawn said on the main radio channel where you can find the bodies of his victims. The Deputy also added that he was going to kill himself near Plant City High School. When other deputies arrived to school, their colleague was indeed there.
«[They] came into contact with this Deputy. Did everything possible to try to convince this Sheriff that there is another way, what is the other solution — said Chronister at a press conference. — [But] unfortunately, the Deputy had committed suicide.»
He added that the last words Strawn concern emotional and financial problems and that he lost everything.
«We’re not quite sure what this means,’ said Chronister. — This will be part of the investigation.»
Assistant victims were his 54-year-old wife Theresa, a 32-year-old daughter Courtney and 6-year-old granddaughter of Landina.

As reported by the Sheriff, Stroun only recently returned to the Sheriff’s Department after his retirement in 2017.
«The assistant had no performance or behavioral problems, said Chronister, calling him «an exemplary employee». — He was extremely grateful [that we made], noting that Christmas came early».
The Sheriff urged the police across the States to take more seriously the mental health of their employees.
«We have to change the culture,’ said Chronister. We need to make sure that everyone knows that to seek help is normal».

This is the second time when the Deputy Sheriff of the County of Hillsborough has committed murder and then killed himself. Not so long ago, September 24, assistant Katli kirk killed his wife and then himself in the time, as their four children were at home.
A few days ago, 44-year-old employee of the U.S. Coast guard John Stanley Presnal, after a quarrel with his wife, opened fire, killing him and their 7 year old son. Then the man shot himself. The incident also injured his 8-year-old daughter, who is now in critical condition.
