Detached trailer truck crashed into the subway entrance in Lower Manhattan. There were no injuries

On Monday, about 8 a.m. while driving from the cab of the truck came off the trailer and passing through a diagonal of several lanes of the road, crashed into the subway entrance on 23rd street in Lower Manhattan.

Police blocked traffic on 23rd street between 6th and 7th Avenue to understand the causes of the incident and to move the trailer, which blocked several lanes.

According to police, fortunately no one was hurt, the incident didn’t even affect the operation of the metro.

«One entrance to the southern platform of the F / M at 23rd street is temporarily closed after a car accident this morning. Your safety is our top priority; we are reopening the entrance, as soon as it is safe,» wrote NYCTSubway on Twitter, adding that people wishing to use the lines of F/M, may enter through the side entrance on 23rd street.

People in social networks are actively worried that the accident badly damaged the station, and it will be a long time to recover. However NYCTSubway the evening already reported about the opening of the affected entrance to the subway.

«Our teams conducted temporary repairs of broken railing and re-opened the entrance. All entrances to the 23rd station opened. Thank you for your patience,» they wrote on Twitter.
