The police are looking for the unknown, overturned and smashed the statue in the Church in Prospect-Lefferts Gardens

The NYPD is looking for the man who broke a statue inside the Church in Brooklyn.

A man came into the parish of St. Francis of Assisi and St. Blaise on Nostrand Avenue (St. Francis of Assisi and St. Blaise Parish) at about 8:45 a.m. to use the bathroom, but suddenly started to behave aggressively. He broke a potted plant standing on the floor in the Church, and then toppled a statue of St. Jude. After that, the suspect ran out and headed South on Nostrand Avenue.

Police reported that the incident occurred on Saturday, January 12. At the moment, this incident is considered as a crime of religious hatred. No one was hurt, but the NYPD says that the statue broke into small pieces, and its unlikely to recover.

Police released video from surveillance cameras, which shows how the alleged suspect walking down the street. According to them, he looks like a man with a beard, wearing a black knit cap, black hooded sweater, black jacket, black pants and black sneakers.
