The representatives of the Border-US customs service (US Customs and Border Protection – CBP) announced on Thursday, January 31, the seizure of a record consignment of dangerous drug fentanyl.
The total weight of the synthetic opioids exceeded 114 kg. Given that the lethal dose of this substance equals 2 mg, the U.S. tried to introduce a batch of prohibited substances able to kill 57 million people. However, law enforcement officers also seized 179 kg of methamphetamine.
As told by employees of CBP, fentanyl was discovered in Arizona when passing the border control. The drugs were in the truck, which was carrying products from Mexico. Among them, the smugglers tried to hide 114kg deadly substance.
