Illinois truck 3 thousand pigs got in an accident, after which animals were on the loose

An unusual accident occurred South of Chicago on Friday, March 22.

A truck carrying about 3 thousand young pigs, rolled over on interstate 70, causing the animals got out and began to frolic in the mud. For liquidation of consequences of the accident drew police, fire, and even employees of the U.S. Department of transportation that showed the «efficient work» for catching pigs.

As representatives of police of the state of Illinois (Illinois State Police – ISP), the accident occurred around 8 a.m. local time. According to preliminary information, the driver of the truck transport was bad, so that he lost control. In the accident no one was seriously injured, but about 100 animals were killed.

After the truck turned over, the part of the surviving piglets were temporarily released. They quickly adapted to the new environment and began to frolic near the wrecked transport.

Because the number of animals numbered in the thousands, local authorities were forced to involve their «evacuation» of staff and nearby police departments, firefighters, and even employees of the Ministry of transport.

Frisky pigs fished for several hours, they clearly enjoyed the sudden freedom, not going back in the cage. However, thanks to the joint efforts of the emergency services of all the animals managed to send to Indiana where they were taken originally.

After the rescue operation, the police of Illinois thanked colleagues for their «efficient work» and posted several photos from the accident scene.
