Male arrested and charged with the murder of several family members, including his parents, may have killed another victim after stealing her car.
As the official representative of the Bureau of investigation tn (TBI) Josh devine, Saturday, April 27, the day the two houses in Westmoreland (tn) were found the bodies of five people. In the evening on the same day, the police arrested the suspect in their murder: 25-year-old Michael Cummings was taken into custody about a mile from the crime scene.
According to local media reports, among the victims were the parents of the detainee — David and Clara Cummins, his uncle Charlie Hosel and 12-year-old child (name and family ties are not reported).

The TBI reported that the woman, whose body was found in another house was a random victim and not connected by kinship ties with the Cummins. The suspect allegedly shot her when she tried to steal a car.
«We hope that tonight the community will be able to relax a bit, knowing that [Cummins] was in custody», — said the representative of the TBI Josh devine.
Special agents continue to investigate a possible motive of the massacre. TBI agents and criminologists are working to piece together all the evidence. While WROC-TV reports that Cummins has a long history of clashes with law enforcement:
- It was first arrested in December 2012 for violation of the order and possession of drugs. A month later he was released.
- In August 2013, Cummins was again arrested because of allegations of domestic violence and sentenced to 150 days in jail.
- In February 2017, he was charged with theft and evading arrest. Police records indicate he posted bail.
- Later in June that year he left for almost two months in jail for robbery, domestic violence and parole violation.
- Three months later, in September 2017, Cummins was accused of aggravated assault, arson with aggravating circumstances, escape and violation of probation. He was sentenced to 180 days for each day charges.

One of the members of the family created a page on GoFundMe to help pay for the funeral expenses of David and Clara Cummins, and shared photos of some of the victims.
The city of Westmoreland is located to the North-East of Nashville, near the border of Tennessee and Kentucky.
