Police in Tennessee said that the message about the man who tried to lure children into his car, turned out to be one big misunderstanding.
A police spokesman Clarksville Jim knoll said that the police received a report that a man dressed as a clown, painted with white paint face and a red nose was near the bus stop, waving to the children candy. As it seemed, so the older man just decided to celebrate his birthday.
Knoll said: «a Man about 70 years. He is a veteran of the Vietnam war and everyone I talked to said that he is a wonderful man. Nothing indicates that he did something wrong.»
According to a post on the Facebook page police Department, officers spoke with people in several places where an elderly man, and they all described it as «a wonderful man who loves fancy dress». «Also there was nothing to indicate that his actions were to hurt or scare someone.»
Knoll noted that people’s fears are understandable, but stressed that the man had good intentions. «The birthday of the man was ruined. This is the world in which we live. I understand that, but it’s sad,» he added.
