According to the Nassau district attorney Madeline Singas, the puppy had a broken rib and leg, and was discovered a bruised lung.

«These animals can’t tell about the unimaginable suffering they endured, but their wounds were inflicted with a blunt object and injuries to the neck and testify to the tragic history says Singas. I don’t know why it happened, and unfortunately, dogs are unable to tell us».

According to court documents, the first puppy named Tucker picked up steam in February at the shelter on long island. However, just nine days later the dog died — she suffered from a ruptured kidney as a result of «injuries from a blow with a blunt object». Just a day after the death of this dog, the couple bought another puppy.

This time they opted for Goldendoodle named Cooper — a cross between a poodle with a Golden Retriever. But three days later, the dog had cardiac arrest and she died. Veterinarians found that Cooper, like Tucker, was suffering from severe internal bleeding, which probably occurred due to beating.

But Knoller and Kuntman complained to the breeder that sold them a sick animal, so he gave them another Goldendoodle named Bella. Two pups were brother and sister from the same litter.

Attorney Singas said that Belle needed an operation that included the introduction of a metal rod and steel plates to restore the broken bones of the legs. The poor puppy needed treatment on $18 thousand

The pair did not plead guilty. Attorneys Knoller and Kuntman claim that all dogs of their clients were sick after they brought them home. Prosecutors described the man as a monster who belonged to the new Pets as furry punching bags.

The Knoller faces up to 2 years in prison, if proven guilty, Junkman can serve about 12 months.
