«Thank God, there’s somebody here»: wearable camera filmed the moment an officer pulls 3-year-old child from a burning house

A surveillance camera located on the chest of an officer, captured the moment on Friday when a police officer from Hazelwood, Missouri saved a little girl 3 years old and her grandmother from a burning house.

In the police Department of Hazelwood said that police responded to a call of a burning house on Friday morning at 11:30.

Police officer Rodriguez was the first who arrived to the scene. He saw that the front door of the house on fire. However, he heard cries for help from the window in the basement. Body camera recorded, as he rushed to the window and broke it. Rodriguez was able to pull 3-year-old girl and carried her away from the fire to a safe place.

The girl’s grandmother Latoniya HART later said: «When I realized that nearby there was someone who helped me get her, I cheered. I thought, thank you Lord, thank God that there’s somebody here».

Having pulled out the child, the officer returned and helped the woman get out through the window with another neighbor.

The call about the fire brigade responded of Florissant, Hazelwood, Ferguson and Berkeley, which have coped with fire.

Latonia HART and her little granddaughter, the doctors assisted not place. Reportedly, the condition of the woman and child was satisfactory and they did not have to go to the hospital.

However in the woman’s house all burned up. She has been with her fiancé, granddaughter and 2 dogs. Because one of her neighbors set up a page raising funds to help the family get back on their feet. Despite the fact that all of the woman’s house burned down, Latoniya grateful to the people who rushed to her aid.

The woman said that they stayed alive only thanks to the actions of strangers. When the fire started, they were imprisoned in the basement. Fortunately, the officer arrived in time to pull the child and send it to your neighbors, and then helped get the woman.
