Police hours investigating bogus robbery because the husband was afraid to tell his wife the loss of the ring

The police said that the man made up a story that he was robbed to not tell his wife that he’s lost wedding ring.

A resident of Genoa township in Ohio stated that he was robbed by 2 men who, threatening with a knife, attacked him at the car wash in Northgate. The «victim» of the crime gave the police a description 2 Hispanics in a black pickup, so the officers immediately began to «comb» the area in search of suspects. When police began searching for suspects, officers reviewed video surveillance footage, figured out what happened actually. The man wasn’t even close.

On the Facebook page of the police officers described the course of its investigation:

Officers found several suitable cameras at the car wash and in the Department of Goodwill, and when they reviewed the tapes, he saw that the man was indeed sitting in the car, but absolutely no one was approaching. After several hours of further investigation, it turned out that he was afraid to tell his wife the loss of a ring and made up the whole story.

The police added that it took them several hours to find out that the man made up a story about an attack by robbers, just afraid to tell my wife the truth about what he’s lost wedding ring. The police were very unhappy with this deception.

«The case for hours worked, many of our officers, who arrived on a call, and then created inconvenience to business at the car wash,» said police chief Steve Gammill. «Besides, could end that people matching the description stopped on false charges».

Gemmill told that the man will be charged with filing a false police report.

But there is in this story and the positive moment – a man found his wedding ring.
