A man from Mississippi, who identified himself as a CIA agent, beat to death a 64-year-old resident of the Lower East side, who with his wife sheltered him in his house.
According to police, 64-year-old Douro Vaduvescu and his wife Mimi poznakomilis 46-year-old «agent» Truman Delaney about six months ago in a theme (dedicated to the CIA) group in Facebook.
The suspect wrote the pair, saying that he needs their help «to accomplish their tasks».
The couple agreed, and 4 months ago was invited to Truman Delaney to move to their apartment in new York, on Henry St. near Clinton St.
According to the couple, until last week everything was in order, suddenly Delaney lost his temper, complaining that the apartment is too hot and accusing Vaduvescu espionage.
He closed his spouse in the bedroom more than a day, beaten with a wooden stick man, and elicited from him a pin of a Bank card.
When Delaney went to the Bank, Mimi Vaduvescu opened the window and called for help. Alarmed neighbors called 911. When police arrived, Delaney admitted his guilt.
Douro Vaduvescu was taken to the hospital where the next morning he had a heart attack and the man died.

According to a neighbor couple, Claire Rahi, she was recently seen as Mimi walked with the suspect and talked to him in their native Romanian language.
