In Nichupte Lagoon in Cancun (Southeast of the Mexican state of Quintana Roo) crocodile attacked the man — an American tourist when he went… to urinate in the lagoon.
Reptile instantly came out of the water and closed his teeth on the forearm of men. After a struggle the victim managed to escape. He was taken to a local hospital, where surgeons have performed an emergency surgery.
According to the publication, Riviera Maya News, the victim — 40-year-old cal Monzon (it is unknown what state) is in a critical condition, doctors are fighting for his life.
Nichupte Lagoon famous for its waters, which simply teem with crocodiles, some of them reach three meters.
And attacks on humans are, unfortunately, too often. So, last year the Texas native Jonathan Shainman attacked a 13-foot crocodile, when a man was engaged in underwater hunting.
The crocodile grabbed Jonathan’s head, he remembered that heard the crunch of his bones of the skull. In the end, the man was able to escape from the deadly jaws. He had over 200 stitches in the skull, inserted metal plate.
Environmental organization Onca Maya reports that for the last 22 years in Quintana Roo, including Cancun, there were 36 attacks by crocodiles on people.
