The Sheriff allegedly killed the son of his Deputy after a dispute about loud music in the store

County Sheriff’s Loudens (al) John Williams, whom everyone called Big John, was shot in the store QV in Hanville about 20:00 Saturday, November 23. William chase Johnson, son of Deputy Sheriff, and later was taken into custody.

18-year-old Johnson surrendered to law enforcement after a four-hour investigation. He was taken into custody on the same gas station, where they were killed Williams. The Sheriff’s office Montgomery County confirmed that Johnson is the son of one of his deputies.

From all over the state began to receive words of support, including from Governor Kay Ivey, who called the Sheriff «a consummate professional and a pillar of his community.»

«Everybody loved him,» said AL.com district judge Adrian Johnson. «He was one of those rare people who was struggling to take care of you.»

Williams became a volunteer as a Deputy in reserve in 1978 and was first elected Sheriff in 2010.
