88-year-old Leonard Miller was at his home in Perry township (Ohio), when he heard someone scream, and then knocking on his front door.
Miller’s neighbor, 13-year-old girl told him that her 10-year-old sister was attacked by a family pit bull.
Miller, without thinking, grabbed the first thing that came to hand. It was a Christmas decoration — plastic toy soldiers with a length of three feet. The pensioner immediately rushed to the neighbors ‘ house.
According to the man, when he ran inside, he heard screams and saw with horror that the pit bull grabbed the little girl in the shoulder. Then Leonard Miller began to beat the dog with a toy soldier.
«He was holding her teeth, shaking and growling. I hit a dog soldier a few times, but it seems that she did not feel. Then had to hit back, and the pit bull released the girl,» — said Miller.
The girls ran out of the house, and he retired slowly retreated behind them, making sure that the dog attacked him.
Miller immediately called the police and an ambulance. According to paramedics, he saved a girl’s life.
«I’ve been called a hero, and it just caught me off guard. Some of my hero?», — the man said.
