Shooting in Rhode island: Two injured, one dead

Thursday morning the town of Westerlo shooting occurred, resulting in one person died and three were wounded.

The shooting occurred in the street Cross Street in a residential complex Babcock Village. According to the information listed on real estate sites, the complex provides affordable housing for seniors and people with disabilities.

According to police, they opened fire one of the residents of the building, the 66-year-old male: it was later found in his apartment. Allegedly, the suspect committed suicide.

The local Church, which is about a mile from the scene, was closed. During shooting, inside were seven people.

«We closed all the Windows and doors and gathered in the Church.» — Jacqueline Smith, administrator of the Episcopal Church of Christ.

City Council member Karen A. Cioffi said in a residential complex, where there was a shooting, «usually quiet».

«I’ve lived here 26 years and never heard about the shooting. «said Cioffi. «We are constantly preparing for this, but this is all new to us. It’s a shock.»
