A bald eagle swooped into the yard and devoured a domestic dog

Colorado Pomeranian was attacked and was killed by a bald eagle in the backyard.

«Right there on the tree was a giant eagle», — said local resident mark Smith, pointing to a tree a hundred yards from his backyard.

Smith photographed bald eagles in the second half of the day and then went to dinner. Attended the dinner and future daughter-in-law of Smith, Amanda Harper, who in September moved to Colorado with their three Pomeranian Spitz.

When the family returned from dinner, they were met by only two of the three dogs.

«I heard some of the worst sounds in my life, told Amanda Harper channel KMGH. — I really heard how the bird was killed my dog.»

According to Mark Smith, in the back yard he found a «big pile of fur», «lots of blood», and «a few feathers».

«My dog had to grow up with my kids, he had another 10 years of life, and now it’s gone,» said a grieving mistress of the deceased Spitz.

The backyard of this house there is a double fence for protection from coyotes, but the family had no idea that the threat could come from the air.

«I never would have thought that the eagle can fly, to deal with the family pet,» said mark Smith.

The family said that he decided to share his story with the hope that it will be able to prevent similar incidents in the future.

«I just think it’s important, especially in the evening. If you release the dog, watch her,» added Smith.

Amanda also urged all owners of Pets to hug them tight and appreciate every moment spent together.
