Authorities confirmed that two teenage brothers from Washington State drowned in a lake when one tried to rescue the other from the water.
Boys, ages 14 and 15, swam on inflatable mattresses at Lake Spunway in Pierce County, according to the KIRO news channel.
“One of them went under water. Another started screaming, ”Pierce County Sheriff Sgt. Jake Greger told the publication.

According to police, the children were pulled out of the water by a rescue team and taken to Mary Bridge Children's Hospital in Tacoma, where they were pronounced dead.
