One person was killed and at least nine were injured in the accident involving four cars on the Grand Central Parkway in Queens this morning.
As reported in the police traffic accident occurred at about 6.30 am near 188th Street in Jamaica Estates. One of the cars drove over the dividing line on the counter.
«I saw the woman climbed through the roof and tried to pull her daughter out of the wrecked car, but it failed to do so until the rescue team arrived,» he told 1010 WINS one of the witnesses.
«One person died on the spot, another nine were hospitalized,» — said the police.
According to preliminary information, two people are «in serious but stable condition», the others received minor injuries.
The identity of the deceased person is not yet established. Drivers are warned about traffic jams near the accident scene.
