A police car accidentally drove in two people who were lying on the beach in long island yesterday, July 16, in the evening.
According to police, it happened at Long Beach. Patrol truck went straight to the water about 20 PM to report that the water is better not to be, because the beach is now not working lifeguard.
The beach was filled with people, and two was just under the wheels of the truck.
«I was walking down the beach and saw a body under the wheel of a police car,» he told NBC one of the witnesses. «Honestly, I just could not believe my eyes.»
The victims were hospitalized, doctors say their injuries are not fatal, but details about the nature of the injuries is still unknown.
The police reported that a police officer who was driving, also was taken to the hospital, however, did not specify why. He added that he worked patrol for more than 20 years, and that it is common practice to go to the beach in the police truck in the evening.
The last time the police were affected holidaymakers on the beach about 8 years ago. The investigation continues.
