Authorities report that a pair of Murriet, California, brought charges of ill-treatment and child abuse after their 5-year-old son was hospitalized with severe injuries, and after fell into a coma.
Benjamin Matthew Witten, an employee of the US Navy, the biological father of the injured boy and his girlfriend Jerin Christine Johnson, with whom they lived together, Thursday must be brought to court, the website of KTLA.
A couple was arrested Tuesday, about 10 hours after Johnson called 911 and reported that the baby is unwell.
Police Lieutenant Murrieta says that officers arrived at the scene, found emaciated and clearly malnourished child. Police added that the boy had «severe injuries requiring urgent treatment.»
The ambulance took the baby to the district hospital and then flown to another hospital in the County of San Diego. In the police report that the boy is in critical condition.
Neighbors say they rarely saw the family, but sometimes it was audible as the father yells at the boy.
33-year-old Witten, and a 25-year-old Johnson was on Thursday accused of abuse and ill-treatment, in which a boy fell into a coma.
After receiving a warrant, detectives searched the home of a married couple, where, police said, they found «highly unsanitary» conditions. Of them have taken home eleven dogs, four cats and two fish.
