Yesterday, on Tuesday, held a regular court session on the case of Paul Manafort and Rick gates.
We will remind, the former head of the election campaign, Donald trump Sex and Manafort and his longtime business partner Rick gates was charged related to the investigation of the interference of Russia in the presidential race of 2016. Manafort is accused of 12 counts, including conspiracy against the United States with the purpose of money laundering.
This is what became known in the course of the hearing and of the testimony the accused gave to investigators:
- now Manafort there are three United States passports, all under different numbers, but generally for several years, he had 10 passports;
- this year Manafort went to Mexico, China and Ecuador, where he used email and the phone registered under a different name;
- for 2017 Manafort visited Dubai, Cancun, Panama, Havana, Shanghai, Madrid, Tokyo and the Cayman Islands. Often Manafort, and gates flew to Cyprus.
«Travel of this nature raise suspicions», — reads the statement of the Prosecutor.
As CNN reports, the assets of Manafort since 2012 has grown from 19 to 136 million dollars.
«Rick gates, in turn, changed banks, opened and closed Bank accounts», — noted in Prosecutor’s office. «He has opened 55 accounts in 13 different financial institutions, including in Cyprus and in England. The accounts were up to 10 million dollars.»
Following the appearance in court of the accused is scheduled for tomorrow, November 2. No Manafort nor gates, have pleaded not guilty.
