In new York the chiefs are going to be fined for message to employees after work

A member of the city Council of new York, representing Brooklyn, wants to make life easier for employees. Rafael Espinal has put forward a bill according to which the authorities would not have the right to require employees to check (and reply) to emails or other messages sent after the end of the working day.

«We need to set clear boundaries for employees so they can maintain a healthy balance between work and personal life and could live without fear of punishment for not working responded to messages in the evening,» said Espinal.

The bill called «Right to disconnect» (if it will) will require the bosses who have subordinated more than 10 employees, to inform employees of their right to finish work on time and not to return to her home.

The law will not prohibit the sending of communications workers, but the employee will have the right not to answer them. If the authorities will continue to require that employees were available online and after work, it will be fined for $500 for the first time and $1000 for the second violation.

Rafael Espinal reported that similar laws have been adopted in France, Germany, Italy and the Philippines.
