Now they have to 365 thousand signatures before October 2018. If this is done, the next step is a preliminary vote in 2020. Then residents of the state can for the first time seriously to ask: «are you Willing to consider the independence of California?».
Interestingly, one of the founders of this movement Louis Marinelli for several years living and working in Yekaterinburg as an English teacher. However, the influence of Russia on events in the Golden state, the man categorically denies.
According to recent polls, the idea of the separation supports a third of the residents of California. This is largely due to the regular conflicts between Donald trump and representatives of the state of California.
«We understand that it will take a long time to wait. But we also intend to prepareto engage in a serious dialogue with the people of California about why it is necessary to support a referendum on independence. Voters must make an informed decision when they go to the polls, then to determine the political future of the state,» says Marinelli.
