The police found telephones for emergencies in Forest Park

Runners and cyclists visiting the Forest Park, can now call help in an emergency, one push of a button. Around the Park, officers of the police Department of new York has established a special phone 8 devices, powered by solar panels. The Department said that by the end of July, the number of phones increases.

Green zone with an area of 500 acres is popular among families with children and sport lovers. However, in recent years, the Park often there are a variety of crimes, including sexual assault, robbery, break-ins of cars and even murder.

After a series of sexual assaults, 102 police station regularly patrol the Park. In addition, last summer there were 14 camerasplaced in seven locations around the Park. This year city Council member Eric Ulrich has allocated $140,000 to install the phones, which are designed to ensure the safety of all Park visitors.
