From January 1 in California will be denied the issuance of temporary paper numbers when selling a car

The new law entering into force on 1 January, will prohibit the use in California temporary paper numbers that are attached to new and used cars in showrooms during the sale.

Some drivers abuse it for years without getting a permanent license plate that is often difficult to search and arrest offenders on the roads. New temporary signs will be lettered and numbered as permanent. They will be provided a 90-day expiration date following after the sale of the car. They also will be linked to the DMV database, which will help to determine the registered owner. When the validity of the token expires, the driver must attach a permanent sign.

According to sellers, many people come to car dealerships to ask for paper rooms, and some even steal their cars. The police said that will stop the car with the paper numbers or no numbers.

«Law enforcement will have more opportunities for solving crimes because it can use information that was previously unavailable,» said the speaker of the Assembly, Kevin Mullin.
