In the budget of the state of new York will include a ban on plastic bags and an additional tax on bottles, plastic and aluminum

On Sunday, Governor Andrew Cuomo announced that he intends to include in the Executive budget for the 2019 ban on use of plastic bags and the introduction of additional 5-cent fee on plastic bottles and aluminum cans, which often sell soft drinks.

Cuomo said that, despite the fact that the Federal government «sells us oil companies», slowing environmental progress, new York will continue to protect our natural resources for future generations.

«These bold steps to ban plastic bags and promote recycling reduce waste, protect our water and create a cleaner and greener new York,» said Cuomo.

The Department of environmental protection will work with the store owners and community leaders that innovations not hurt people with low and middle income. Will address the question of the distribution of those in need of bags of repeated use or the introduction of exceptions where appropriate.

The Commissioner of the Department of environmental protection Basil Segos believes that the overall efforts of the people of new York can reduce the amount of waste and greenhouse gas emissions and protect the environment.

«These measures will also help municipalities and retailers to respond to global changes in the processing industry, said Segas. — We will continue to explore additional ways to protect the environment.»

Earlier in the year 2017, Cuomo refused to sign the bill, in which buyers were asked to charge an additional 5 cents for use of plastic bags in stores, because it would allow store owners to maintain profits, but could have hit the poor.
