More than 80% of Americans agree that undocumented immigrants had the chance to become U.S. citizens

The vast majority of Americans want illegal immigrants were given «the opportunity to become US citizens», but under certain conditions.

According to a survey conducted by Gallup, 81% of recipients believes that an illegal alien who within the specified time period fulfill certain requirements (what exactly — not specified), deserves a us passport. This figure seems really high, but actually in 2016 when the only trump was elected President, for citizenship for illegal immigrants made more people — 84%.

The same situation occurred with respect to deportation: 61% of respondents said that they are against the deportation, compared to 66% in 2016.

Mainly due to the rhetoric of trump and his administration on the construction of a wall on the border with Mexico the immigration issue is considered a key to Americans. In November during the midterm elections, 78% of Americans identified immigration as an extremely or very important issue for them, placing it in the top three most important public issues.

In the survey Gallup 60% of Americans polled said they opposed the plan of the trump. The rate increased slightly in comparison with June of 2018, when 57% of people stated that they are against this idea.

In opress Gallup participated 1022 people in the period from 21 to 27 January.

Recall that in a recent poll PBS NewsHour/NPR/Marist Institute, 57% of respondents firmly stated that they do not want in the future to see trump’s head of state.
