In Kansas the Russian Bogdan Osipov-Mobley pleaded guilty to kidnapping daughters

In Kansas in the district court in Wichita, the jury unanimously found the Russian Bogdan Osipov (Mobley), guilty of extortion and child abduction. Eric Mellgren, U.S. district judge, approved a jury this Monday (some people said it was significant for this process that among the 12 jurors and 9 men). The interests of the accused was represented by new lawyers who took the case less than a month ago — Murdoch Walker and Joshua Lowther of Atlanta.

In Kansas the Russian Bogdan Osipov-Mobley pleaded guilty to kidnapping daughtersSophia and Isabella Osipova-Mobley in the end was left without a mother and without a father

As stated in the official statement of the Prosecutor of Kansas issued at the conclusion of the jury trial, Bogdan A. Osipova, being married to a US citizen Brian Mobley, bore him two daughters (one is already in Russia, they have left being pregnant). Having left the territory of the Russian Federation, left the children there without his father’s consent, and continued to keep them there in spite of the judgment of divorce, which determined that the daughter remain with her father. The jury agreed that it fits the definition of child abduction. Later, while in Russia, Osipov have asked from Mobley money for the maintenance of daughters, not allowing them to meet. The jury found in this regard, it is guilty of extortion. Specific penalties will be determined by the judge, but it is likely to be expressed in lengthy imprisonment.

At the trial of 38-year-old Russian guilt is not admitted, from the concluding words refused. Mobley demonstrated history of correspondence with her in Skype, where the jury could see the messages Osipova with requests for financial assistance as a condition for meetings with children.

Osipova, and with it the Russian media and human rights activists, insist that Mobley had abused her and humiliated during cohabitation.

However, the jury was not presented compelling evidence of this. Osipova-Mobley presented neither medical nor evidence. The jury in this case asked the question of why, if she committed a crime, the woman is not addressed in U.S. law enforcement (especially since she has US citizenship) and is not addressed in medical institutions. In any case it could not affect consideration of the merits of the charges against her — kidnapping and extortion.

Bogdan Osipov traveled from Russia to the USA in 2004-m to year on a student program. Came here to marry a US citizen, gave birth to a son John. The family soon disintegrated, and Bogdan were married in America again.

History of the Mobley-Osipov to trial for extortion, did not come immediately. Initially, father Brian Mobley, a veteran of the U.S. air force, now a realtor, Bogdan demanded the return of his daughters to stay in the U.S. his new family (new wife, a possible adoptive mother of Sophia and Isabella Mobley-Osipov was present in the courtroom). Court in Wichita earlier in November, has proposed a deal in which Bogdan Osipov could be released immediately, if provided the arrival of girls in the United States. However, as it turned out at yesterday’s hearings, she refused the deal. Meanwhile, the Russian court in Kaliningrad has not given permission to export of children abroad.

Thus, Sophia and Isabella remaining in the result without a father and without a mother, are now, in Kaliningrad in the care of her grandmother Juliana (mother bohdany) along with Jan (the elder brother — the son of Bogdan from the previous husband is American) and step-father Bogdan.
