Exploded battery vaping left the man with burns the size of a beach ball

The man received some burns second and third degree after he blew up his battery vaping device.

As explained in the lawsuit, recently filed in Cuyahoga County in Ohio, Nader Harb from Cleveland was kept in a pants pocket spare battery for your vaping device.

The man, who works as a butcher, had just set to work and laid out their equipment, when all of a sudden exploded battery. Attorney Tom Merriman Harb said: «there was a flash and it lit up. He literally fell on the floor, started to ride over it to extinguish the fire and realized that he had blown up his battery».

Wound men was the size of a beach ball. He needed serious medical help from specialists in burns from the center MetroHealth Medical Center.

Merriman noted that the battery manufacturer is a large company that «is not the first time facing problems with battery for vaping».

Over the last few years have been similar incidents, similar lawsuits with this battery and batteries of other companies.

According to the Associated Press, since 2009, the US recorded about 200 fires and more than 130 injuries related to electronic cigarettes.

Merriman said that it is time for American regulators to intervene.

«With these batteries, a situation which can be compared to the wild West. There are no rules, Management on sanitary inspection behind quality of foodstuff and medicines has created rules that focus on the effects of vaping health and whether Wapiti teenagers, but there are no rules in respect of the device or batteries,» said the lawyer.

His client is still recovering from the explosion, and he may never fully recover, but Merriman said it could be worse.

«Imagine what would have happened if this had happened in the middle of the night, imagine that he would sleep or it could be a family with children, a house full of children. We can now discuss much more serious tragedy,» said Merriman.
