Florida fired the Director of the school, who «doubted» the Holocaust

Yesterday, October 30, at the Boca Raton (Florida) fired the Director of the school, who questioned the Holocaust as a historical fact.

This opinion ex-Director William Latson expressed in email correspondence with the parents of one of the students in April 2018.

The school Board of the County of palm beach voted 5-2 to dismiss William Latson.

According to representatives of the County, there is a «fair reason» for the dismissal of the school Director, based on ethical misconduct and breach of duty.

After one of the parents sent a letter to Latson in April last year to ask him how the school tells the students about the Holocaust, Lacson said:

«I can’t say that the Holocaust is an actual historical event, because I’m not able to do this as an employee of the school district. Not all believe that the Holocaust happened. You have my thoughts, but we are a public school, and not all our parents share the same beliefs.»

The school district also criticized William Latson because he is slow to respond to messages of officials after his comments hit the national media.

In an email to the staff of the school of Lacson noted that his comments to the parents were «inaccurately transmitted», and he was on vacation in Jamaica when in the media there is news about his emails.

The school district also said that, while Latson still not officially fired, he at the insistence of the officials went to Washington (D.C.) to visit the Holocaust Museum and learn more about the genocide perpetrated by the Nazi regime, which claimed the lives of 6 million Jews in Europe.

«Every generation must recognize and learn from the horrors of the Holocaust», — said the Chairman of the school Board of the County of palm beach, Frank Barbieri, Jr.
