Good news for those who like to walk «to the fullest» or to «owls», the main awake time which is night. Legislative Assembly of the state of California is considering a bill that will allow bars and restaurants to work until 2 am, as of now, and until 4 am.
The document provides for individual cities and counties to establish the length of the bars on their own (until 4 am). This week the bill has already been reviewed by one Committee of the state Assembly. Ahead of Committee hearing and then a Senate vote.
«Night life plays a huge role in our culture and economy, said Senator Scott Wiener in a statement issued on Wednesday. — California is a huge state with a huge cultural diversity, and this bill recognizes that the same type of unified approach to nightlife in different counties does not make sense».
The bill, called the LOCAL (Let Our Communities Adjust Late Night), will apply to restaurants, bars and Nightclubs, but not liquor stores. The document has gained quite strong support different business structures (mostly associated with the restaurant business), and even the chamber of Commerce of the state. It is also supported by Uber and Lyft.
