In Chicago offer fine for leaving Pets in a closed car

As reported by DNAinfo in Chicago offered to establish punishment in the form of a fine of up to $1000 for leaving pet in a closed car in the heat or cold.

The proposal was submitted 36th Ward Alderman Gilbert Vilegas. According to the proposal, owners of Pets, leaving them in enclosed vehicles must be fined from $300 to $1000.

This measure would also grant law enforcement officers the right to enter a vehicle to rescue the animal after making reasonable efforts to find its owner.

The proposed measure does not provide for minimum and maximum temperatures when leaving pet unattended in a closed car, it will be considered a violation of the law.

It should be noted that the laws of the state of such a measure already exists. The Law on the humane treatment of animals said not to leave Pets in closed cars and expose them to extreme heat or cold. Person convicted of committing a specified offence may be sentenced to a fine in the amount up to $2,500 or sentenced to deprivation of liberty for a term up to 1 year.
