In the recent mass gatherings of people rarely undergo non-emergency situations, many of which end in tears. Authorities every year are tightening security measures not just. In 2015, during the parade , two people were killed, including the assistant Governor Andrew Cuomo. Last year during the shootings was wounded four, and two of the victims died.

The head of the patrol police Department of new York, Terence Monaghan, said that the police will keep order both inside and outside the perimeter of the parade. At its discretion, the officers may make comments or to arrest those they deem dangerous.

According to the representative of the municipality, the members of the organization, Violence Interrupters, many of whom are former gang members, also will be on duty during the parade to prevent violence if necessary.
