The series «Roseanne» was closed after racist tweet about actress Advisor to Obama

ABC has closed a series «Roseanne» after the leading actress of a Comedy show, Roseanne Barrin a tweet called a former counselor to President Obama, Valerie Garett, «the fruit of love of the Muslim brotherhood and «the planet of the apes».

In his official statement, President of ABC Entertainment Channing Dagny, said that the channel’s management decided to close the show, as «Roseanna’s statement was outrageous, disgusting and completely inconsistent with our values».

Shortly before the news about the closure, Barr deleted the tweet and brought Garett apologise for «a bad joke on her politics and appearance», adding that he was leaving Twitter.

I apologize to Valerie Jarrett and to all Americans. I am truly sorry for making a bad joke about her politics and her looks. I should have known better. Forgive me my joke was in bad taste.

In may 2017, ABC announced the return of the show on the screens, and on 27 March 2018 th year saw the premiere of the tenth season attracted 18.44 million viewers. Three days after the release of the first series the network has decided to renew «Roseanne» for the next, eleventh season.
