Leah Adler opened a kosher establishment together with her second husband, Bernie Adler, 1977.

«Their original purpose was to offer kosher food community of Los Angeles, who has never tasted international cuisine,» said Daily News the daughter of Leah, Nancy Spielberg.

Milky Way from the start followed the most stringent requirements of kosher. Nancy Spielberg recalls how her stepfather introduced by local rabbis with the unknown for them is the cuisine of Mexico and China.

«I’ll never forget the Hasidic dance that started in our small living room on Wilshire, when the rivers of margaritas flowed, mixed with tacos and guacamole,» says Nancy Spielberg.

Although there are now a number of certified kosher sushi bars, Chinese restaurants, Italian trattorias, fish grills, bakeries and cafes, Spielbergs decided that the market will be a place for the restaurant of their mother. As a creative chef they invited Phil Kastel. Along with the concept was rethought and interior design.

The spirit of Lily will keep family photos placed around the restaurant, and videos here from time to time will demonstrate.
