Grady Hendrix, an American writer, who created «Chorister» and «the Exorcism of my best friend» shared the story of her life on Twitter on Tuesday evening. «All tell scary stories on Halloween, so I will talk about something that happened to me when I was a child because, well, you know, the injury is not healing ever,» began his story Grady.
He said that in his childhood he made one terrible discovery, because at the age of 9 years he had a habit of sneaking down to the kitchen and feast on the remnants of something tasty after all his family had already gone to bed. «When I was 9, I realized that I can sneak downstairs when everyone was asleep and eat anything I want from the fridge. No one never even noticed it!» — posted by Grady. He added: «the Most difficult thing was to get down. I had to move in the darkness up the stairs and down, like a tiny ninja.»

Grady remembers that one night in may 1981 he went down as usual. He walked in the dark until the sounds of forks clanging on the table, forced him to freeze in place.
«The light hours on the microwave oven showed the silhouette of a man sitting at our kitchen table,» he writes. «He couldn’t see me, but I saw him: a lean man, who ate the remains of our food and drank our milk out of the carton».
Grady adds: «I can’t explain how creepy that is, when someone is in your home. I meeeeedlenno went back up the stairs to Wake mommy and daddy». But his parents took you so long and made such a noise that by the time everyone came to the kitchen, the man was gone.
Grady said that over his fears laughed, saying that he «reads a lot of scary comics,» but he began to track various items in the kitchen. «Once the napkins were not the other side of the table. Another time the Cup was standing in the sink, but tonight she wasn’t there,» he recalls. As his bedroom door was not locked, the boy said that he began to sleep with a sharp knife under the pillow.
One night in August of the same year, the boy was reading in the bedroom when he looked up.
Over my bed was ventilation. Was watching me a pair of eyes the man in the vent. I was so frightened and forced the parents to search the attic and the space under the house. Nothing. A few weeks I was not held in high esteem in the family.
By the end of the month, Grady said that his house started to smell, adding: «One night from the vent above my bed fell Fig. The workers serving the vent, said that perhaps some animal snuck in and died there.»
It turned out that there wasn’t an animal, and the man whom the boy saw in the kitchen. «We lived in an old house with lots of space between the walls and a wide ventilation tunnel. He lived there since may. At the very least».
And if that was not scary enough, then Grady tells him that the man put Mat opposite the vents in his bedroom, so it was easier for him to watch. «The police said he did a lot of «drawings», but when I asked, they pretended not to say anything,» recalls Grady.
The identity of the man has never been established, and he was buried as John DOE. «Still I can’t find the strength to look into the ventilation in homes,» adds Grady.
Post Grady shared thousands of times, and somebody commented: «Well, now I’ll never sleep!» Another added: «It’s just eerily scary and frightening.»
Hendrix himself admits that he was haunted by memories of that experience: «Sometimes when I’m in someone’s house, I smell something from the air conditioning system and think who could live there in the ventilation tunnels. Who lives in the dark?»
