The Disney Studio had cut the scene with the gay kiss from «Star wars: rise of Skywalker» for rental in Singapore.
The company has made it to the sci-Fi Saga received a higher age rating.
«The Complainant withdrew the brief scene which in accordance with the guidelines for the classification of films would require a higher rating», — said the representative of the Infocomm Media Development Authority, a government body to regulate media in the country, reports The Guardian.
In an interview with Variety, published on 3 December, the film’s Director JJ Abrams talked about the importance of diversity in the universe of «Star wars».
«With regard to the LGBTQ community, for me it was important that the people who are watching this film, I feel that they are in the film,» he said.
Sex between two men is illegal and punishable in Singapore. Films depicting LGBT content are censored. Thus, it is not so strict as it seems. In the city-state, there are gay clubs, and also annually a LGBT parade.
International premiere of the final part of the 3rd Saga «Star wars» was held on December 16 in Los Angeles.
