We don’t need to tell you that dogs are amazing creatures, as you probably know it. However, they never cease to amaze us with their loyalty, ability to empathize and joy they give. All we need to do to earn it — just be kind and take care of them.
That’s exactly what Cheryl Smith did over the years. She rescues abandoned, sick animals and those about whom poor care. The woman caring for them, helping them to restore their health and find a new home. So she met Shiro, the dog who recently became famous due to his habit to comfort the other Pets, who are temporarily living with Cheryl, until they are found a home.

Cheryl took Shiro about 2 years ago after the dog has been a long and exhausting way to its permanent home. The dog, which partly sees and hears nothing, has been in 2 shelters and 12 temporary families. He was taken to her 4 times, but each time returned.
However, his life changed after he met Cheryl. The woman knew how much he needed a house, so she decided to «adopt» him. «He was charming, but waved a hand at him and we were not prepared to do the same,» says Cheryl.
Shiro so many times I was left, that he developed anxiety. «He’s still crying in the car because he thinks it will throw out somewhere.»
Despite the fact that shirou’s adorable by himself, he helps care for other animals, which temporarily takes Smith to his home. The dog does everything possible to reassure new guests and helping them feel comfortable until they go to their new permanent home.
«Right after I took Shiro, I saved a female in the position, which was too weak to take care of the puppies. Shiro took care of them and licked them. He did so with all the Pets that I take myself. So he just patiently sits with them that they begin to trust him before you trust me,» explained Smith.

Recently Shirou made friends with a tiny kitten named tiny Tolly. Smith took the kitten, when she found out how he was exhausted. Since then, as the kitten came to their house, Shirou didn’t move from him.
Even after the kitten grew strength back, the dog continued to wait for his cage to calm down. And when Smith takes the kitten to his knees, Shiro walks over and kisses him.
Although tiny Tolly took some time to stop being afraid of the new environment and dogs roaming around, he began to recover and feel better, and in this great merit of Shiro.
