The best self-isolation: the man who circumnavigation is now perhaps the most «safe» person on the planet

27 Oct 2019 Bert Ter HART sailed from Victoria (BC, Canada) on his 40-foot ocean sailing vessel. His goal? To make the circumnavigation without stopping and without the aid of any electronic navigation devices. He hopes to become the first resident of North America who commits such a trip, to navigate using only a sextant, almanac, pen, paper, and journal.

And now Bert literally was «the safest person» on the planet, because they isolated themselves before the start of the pandemic COVID-19.

As of April 1, Bert on his yacht «Seaburban» was coming to Australia, doing two thirds of their journey.

A man born in the flat prairies of South Saskatchewan as far from any ocean as you can imagine. However, his pedigree rich Dutch sailing tradition, his father, grandfather and great-grandfather were professional sailors.

During their trip, the man catalogservlet information about climate change, which later will give Oceanographic research companies, while maintaining the most stringent «social distancing» among everyone on Earth. The only passenger on Board the «Seaburban» is Mr. Solti, plush seal, which Burt takes a lot of pictures.

According to the canadian, it is not so much to the first to make a journey of this kind (which, by the way, should end in San Francisco), and to inspire young people to make a reality of your wildest dreams.

«Isolation is the opportunity to learn more about yourself,’ said Bert Ter HART GNN. – In normal times we rarely think about it, about her real dreams and goals. For some this may be an opportunity to study yourself and get the answers.»
