New York is a city that never ceases to change. In this ever changing nature is a large part of the charm of the Big Apple. Fashion – the lady is fickle, trends come and go. Over the years, the areas be totally different, and this process sometimes takes even less time than we can imagine. New York continued their measured movement along a straight time, and only the pictures help us to remember what it was before.
Perhaps no district of the city, which would have changed more in the last 50 years than Lower Manhattan. Squatters have long left the Lower East Side, Greenwich village is no longer a refuge for members of the beat generation, the Fulton Fish market has long moved to the Bronx.

Fortunately, new York is deprived of the attention of talented photographers representing a layer of the creative class the Big Apple, whose cameras and lenses helped to capture the past and preserve the city the way people saw it half a century ago. Last week the Historical society of Greenwich village (GVSHP Greenwich Village Society for Historic Preservation) has published more than 500 photographsthat show life in Lower Manhattan from the 1960s to 1990s years. Despite their age, they are just amazing, and definitely worth seeing.
