With regard to the investigation of fundraising for his campaign, the mayor said that average new Yorkers are much more interested in issues that directly affect their lives. But the vast majority of voters from new York — 78 percent — believe that de Blasio needs to pay his lawyers from his own pocket and not spend the taxpayers ‘ money.
Initially, the mayor said that he will draw $ 2 million to pay their legal bills, and in June announced that this financial burden will fall on the city budget.
De Blasio also mentioned his ongoing feud with Governor Cuomo, recognizing that some of their conflict was personal. The mayor refused to discuss whether he will support Cuomo in the gubernatorial elections.
