President Donald trump , «deleted» climate change from the list of world threats that pose a danger to the United States. It’s part of a new Strategy of national security of the country.
The document calls China and Russia permanent military rivals and competitors of the United States on the world stage. But there is not a single word about the scientific confirmation of global climate change and the risks associated with them. Such as extreme weather, mass migration and conflict.
This is a radical new look at the foundations of the country’s security, given that the previous presidential administration acknowledged global warming «urgent and growing threat to national security».
The motto of the new Strategy was the following statement: «Economic security of the United States is the national security». The United States will unilaterally to protect its sovereignty, even if it bears the risk to existing agreements with other countries.
Nevertheless, the Strategy still pays some attention to the issues of the natural environment. «The United States remains the world leader in reducing traditional pollution and greenhouse gas emissions, expanding its economy,» the document reads.
In his speech on the new Strategy, the President accused the previous administration is that they put «American energy under lock and key» and stated that his approach «represents the future of American power dominance and self-sufficiency».
