President Donald trump on Wednesday announced that to complete the process of «relocation» of the U.S. Embassy in Israel from tel Aviv to Jerusalem during the year will fail. Review by the head of state was given in response to the statement by the Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahumade during a working trip to India.
«I firmly believe that the move will take place much faster than you think — in the course of the year,» he said.
Earlier, Secretary of state USA Rex Tillerson explained that the move is not an easy task and it will take at least 3 years. A lot of time and effort in the process of moving should be spent on logistics — the search for a safe for the placement of diplomatic mission, space arrangement, the transportation of property, accommodation for diplomats and their families, etc.
After trump’s comments, Netanyahu decided to clarify what was meant. «I know that the relocation of the Embassy may take years, but I’m sure the U.S. will do everything possible to ensure that it happened much faster,» he said.
