The mayor of new York bill de Blasio, suddenly decided to refuse to visit the White house, where he was to undergo the meeting of the President of Donald trump with over 100 mayors from different cities in the United States. The reason for his decision, de Blasio called recently published a memo from the Ministry of justice regarding the so-called cities of refuge, which refuse to cooperate with officers of the Federal immigration service.

«I’m NOT going to attend today’s meeting at the White house after the Ministry of justice Donald trump (@realDonaldTrump) decided to resume the racist attacks against our immigrants. It does not provide us safer and violates the core values of America,» wrote de Blasio in his account Twitter.
Originally it was planned that dozens of mayors from different parts of the United States, including Mr. de Blasio will meet with trump at 3pm behind closed doors during the two-day conference of mayors of the USA. According to White house officials, the main topics for discussion will be the issues of «obsolete infrastructure», the fight against the opioid epidemic and the economic situation.
Currently, the Ministry of justice collects information on 23 cities shelters, including new York, to assess whether legally these cities hide the data from the immigration authorities. News Agency Reuters reports that cities that do not comply with all norms, can face serious consequences including litigation.
The visit of the mayor of new York to the White house would have marked the first meeting de Blasio, trump after a personal conversation between the two politicians in the Trump Tower, which took place after the former media Mogul won the election in 2016. It should be noted that the mayor and the President do not cherish each other warm feelings.
