23 March 2018 President Donald trump posted on his page in the Twitter post, which announced resignation from the post of national security adviser Lieutenant-General Herbert McMaster. He thanked him for his work and announced that his post will take John Bolton, the former US Ambassador to the UN, which in recent years was a commentator on TV channel Fox News. He is also known for his conservative views regarding the foreign policy of the United States.

Lieutenant-General Herbert McMaster is one of the recognized national heroes of the USA. He has extensive experience in combat operations and participated in all modern military conflicts, which were involved in America. He is considered one of the greatest military tacticians and strategists of the 21st century. He also wrote the book «Dereliction of Duty» released in 1997, which harshly criticized the strategy of the White house during the Vietnam war. Under the «hot hand» McMaster also got the top leadership of the US army of the time.
