The President of the United States Donald trump signed a Memorandum, which implies the abandonment of the practice of «catch and release» in relation to illegal migrants. Earlier, police had detained illegal immigrants left at liberty until the decision of the court.
Also in the Memorandum to Secretary of defense James Mattis, the is requested to prepare a list of military objects, which can be kept detained migrants.
The Department of homeland security, in coordination with other agencies, are required within 45 days to submit a report to the President «with a detailed description of all measures that have been taken to stop the practice of «catch and release».
Press Secretary of the White house Sarah Sanders called the liberation of migrants to court the «dangerous» practice: «Safety of the American people is a top priority of the President. And he will fulfill his promise to protect our country and enforce our laws.»

On Wednesday, the US President ordered to bring the National guard to protect the U.S. border with Mexico. The decision of the American leader explained that «the situation on the southern border has reached a critical point» — because of the flows of illegal immigrants, smuggling and drugs.
According to the Ministry of internal security of the United States, in the period from March 2017 to March 2018, the number of illegal border crossings between the U.S. and Mexico increased by 203%, and from February to March of this year by 37%.
