The Senate intelligence Committee supported the investigation of Russian interference in the elections in 2016

The intelligence Committee in the U.S. Senate has supported a joint investigation of the CIA, FBI and NSA (Intelligence Community Assessment ICA) on the Russia’s intervention in the American elections in 2016.

In the report of July 3, the Committee confirmed that the Kremlin had «explicitly promoting» Donald Trump and discredit Hillary Clinton, helped him to take the presidency.

The Committee stressed that the investigation also «witnessed other examples of Russia’s attempts to sow discord, to undermine democratic values and to intervene in the elections, the United States and our other allies.»

According to the authors of the report, they studied «thousands of pages of reports» and questioned everyone who worked on ICA — from the executives to the analysts to ensure their objectivity and political independence.

Currently, the intelligence Committee is working on a more detailed report on the conclusions based on the results of the investigation.
