Most Americans are concerned about issues of poor governance and illegal immigration

Gallup Institute published the results of a survey in which people are asked to name the major problems of the United States. First the Americans put dissatisfaction with the government, but the second position remains the question of illegal immigration.

According to the staff of the Institute, the mood of the people in the last month has changed significantly. The main reason — the longest shutdown in the history of the United States of America.

In December, only 19% of respondents complained about problems in the government, and in a month, this indicator increased by 10 points, to 29%. This clearly demonstrates the rapid growth of discontent associated with the government shutdown.

With regard to the topic of illegal immigration, here also there is a tendency to increase. Last time only 16% of people said that this issue concerns them the most. However, in January, nearly 21% of respondents identified immigration as the main.

Experts note that, despite the recent turmoil in the US stock market and the slowdown in the economy, this topic is not particularly concerned about Americans. Only 3% of the people surveyed called the financial situation in the country is a major problem. This is a record figure since 1939.

It is also interesting that only a quarter of respondents (26%) satisfied with the way things are going in the United States of America. In December the figure was 31% and in November — 35%.

Experts note that the number of people dissatisfied with a current situation in the country has reached the level of November 2017, amounting to 72%. More educated population often criticizes the current situation.

Employees Gallup also noted that Americans significantly depend on political affiliation. More than half of Republicans (54%) were satisfied with the state of Affairs in the country, while among Democrats such optimism can boast of only 8% of respondents.
